Superb & so happy - I bought Wickable Wool Lined J
By: Lee-Ann on 2 December 2024My sensitive skinned mare was struggling with a few of the saddle blankets/numnah's that I tried on her. She would rub easily and get a bit 'ouchy'. I am not a fan of the thinner cotton saddle blankets & did not try them - I find they are more difficult to hose down and therefore harbour dirt, dirt & old sweat = reaction. I tried the traditional 'woolly' sheepskin saddle pads but after a few months, the wool was clumping and it was difficult for me to fluff it up. The clumping made hard lumps and she was not happy with that. But...a friend suggested that I try Equinenz who used to be based in NZ evidently. I took a chance, paid just over $200 all up with shipping, conversion rate etc...and I have never been happier!!! I was a bit surprised when the saddle blanket arrived as I expected it to be softer. But...I realized that the wool has been woven like that for optimal comfort. It is easy to clean, I lay it on the lawn and hose it down after a heavy exercise session. I love my saddle pad.
